Mrs. Elizabeth Frances Furr, 102-year-old former Waynetown resident, died at 6 p.m. Monday at Shahan Nursing Home, 613 Kentucky St. She had been a patient at the nursing home seven years and had been bedfast most of that time because of a twice-broken hip. She was born Dec. 12, 1856, on a farm 4 ½ miles south of Waynetown, a daughter of William and Sophia Sheeley Fletcher, who came to Indiana from Ohio. She was the last of a family of 10 children. She married Frank Furr, a Fountain County farmer, who died April 6, 1933. Mrs. Furr remembers as a child of hearing her father tell of the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. She was a charter member of the Ingersoll Chapel Church southeast of Waynetown. When the church disbanded a number of years ago she became a member of the Waynetown Christian Church. Mrs. Furr lived in Waynetown and vicinity most of her life. Surviving are a granddaughter, Mrs. Clarence Alvey of New Ross; a niece, Mrs. Flo McBroom of Waynetown and two nephews, Cal Work of Waynetown and Clayton Work of Hillsboro. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Long who died Feb. 22, 1936. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Servies Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. John R. Servies officiating. Interment will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may pay their respects at the funeral home after 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Rites Conducted For Mrs. Elizabeth Furr- Waynetown- Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth F. Furr were held Thursday afternoon at the Servies Funeral Home. Rev. John R. Services officiated and Mrs. Nellie Snyder played organ music. Pallbearers were Parvin Furr, David Harper, Henry Wood, Floyd Suitors, Jess Collins and Paul Long. They also Assisted with the flowers. Burial was in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Mrs. Furr, 102, was a resident of Waynetown and vicinity until seven years ago when she entered the Shahan Nursing Home in Crawfordsville where she died Monday.
